ICEcard (“ICEcard”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide when using the ICEcard mobile application and related services.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices and rights available to you.

By using the ICEcard application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.


1. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect the following categories of information:

1.1 Account and Profile Information

We may collect information that you provide when creating or maintaining your ICEcard account, including your name, contact information, profile information, and other information you choose to add to your account.

1.2 Emergency Information

You may choose to provide emergency-related information through the App, including medical information, emergency contacts, vehicle information, and other information that may be useful during an emergency.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

1.3 Location Information

When you grant location permission, we may collect precise or approximate location information for features that require location data, including Need Help requests, live location sharing, and certain reports.

The specific ways we use location information are described in Section 11 of this Privacy Policy.

1.4 Contacts

If you choose to use features that require emergency contacts, we may process the contact information of the people you add as emergency contacts.

1.5 Device and Technical Information

We may collect certain device and log information required to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App. This may include information relating to your device, operating system, application activity, and technical logs.


2. How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate ICEcard services and features.

  • Store and display your emergency information.

  • Process emergency and Need Help requests.

  • Facilitate communication with emergency contacts and participating emergency service providers.

  • Provide location-based features when you have granted the required permissions.

  • Provide live location sharing when you explicitly choose to use that feature.

  • Process missing-person and luggage reports submitted through the App.

  • Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our services.

  • Prevent misuse, unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse.

  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.


3. Sharing of Your Information

We may share information when necessary to provide features that you request or where permitted or required by law.

Depending on the feature you use, information may be shared with:

  • Emergency contacts that you have added to the App.

  • Emergency service providers registered on the ICEcard platform that you select.

  • Service providers that host, secure, maintain, or operate our platform under contractual arrangements.

  • Authorities where disclosure is required by applicable law.

We do not sell your location data.

ICEcard does not guarantee that any emergency service provider, emergency contact, authority, or other recipient will receive, read, or act upon an alert, request, or location information.

ICEcard is a technology platform and does not operate ambulances, police, or fire services.


4. Face Scan Information

Where the App provides a face scan feature, the information generated through that feature is used for the purposes described within the App.

We retain and process face scan information only as necessary for the stated purpose and in accordance with our applicable retention practices.

Where applicable, you may request deletion of your account and associated information as described in this Privacy Policy.


5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, maintain appropriate business and security records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

You may also delete your account from within the ICEcard app under:

Profile → General → Delete account

Upon successful deletion, we process removal of your account and associated personal data in accordance with our systems and applicable law.

Some information may be retained where required by law or where retention is necessary for legitimate business, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal purposes.


6. Security

We take reasonable measures designed to protect the information we process against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, or destruction.

However, no electronic transmission, storage system, or internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are also responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and device.


7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

Access and Correction

You may request access to or correction of personal information that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.

Location Permission

You can deny or revoke location permission through your device Settings.

Without location permission, certain features such as Need Help, live location sharing, and location-based reports may not work.

Delete Data

You may delete your account directly in the ICEcard App:

Profile → General → Delete account

Live Location Sharing

You can stop live location sharing at any time through the App.


8. Children’s Privacy

ICEcard is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older, unless the App is used with appropriate parental consent where permitted.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.


9. Third-Party Services

ICEcard may use third-party service providers to host, secure, maintain, operate, or support portions of the platform.

Such service providers may process information on our behalf and are expected to handle information in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.

The App may also interact with participating emergency service providers or other services depending on the features you choose to use.


10. Emergency Services and Important Limitations

ICEcard is a technology platform designed to help users store emergency information, communicate with designated contacts, request assistance from participating providers, and share location information when the user chooses.

ICEcard does not operate ambulances, police, fire, or other official emergency response services.

The use of ICEcard does not guarantee:

  • That an emergency request will be received.

  • That an emergency contact or provider will respond.

  • That a provider will respond within a particular time.

  • That an ambulance, police, fire, or medical service will be dispatched.

  • That a provider or authority will reach you.

  • That your location will always be accurate or available.

Location accuracy may be affected by your device, GPS availability, network connectivity, environmental conditions, and other technical factors.

Service availability may also vary by geographic region and by participating provider.

In an immediate or life-threatening emergency, contact the official emergency number applicable to your location.


11. Location Data and Emergency Features

11.1 Types of Location Use

When you grant location permission, we may collect and use your precise or approximate location to:

(a) Send your position with a Need Help request to the emergency service provider you select and to your designated emergency contacts where the feature allows;

(b) Update your last known location on our servers when the App is allowed to do so, for example when you use the App or when background location is enabled for live sharing;

(c) Attach location information to missing-person or luggage reports that you create;

(d) Share your live location with an emergency service provider when you explicitly accept a live location request, including while the App is in the background until you stop sharing in the App.


11.2 Who Receives Location Data

We may disclose location data to:

  • The emergency service provider(s) you choose when raising a Need Help request;

  • Emergency contacts you have added in the App, when an alert or feature includes your location;

  • Service providers that host, secure, or operate our platform under contract;

  • Authorities when required by applicable law.

We do not sell your location data.


11.3 Your Controls

You can deny or revoke location permission through your device Settings.

Without location permission, Need Help, live location sharing, and location-based reports may not work.

You can stop live location sharing at any time in the App.

You may delete your account in the App by going to:

Profile → General → Delete account

Account deletion initiates deletion of account data as described in our retention practices.


11.4 Location and Emergency Feature Limitations

ICEcard is a technology platform.

We do not operate ambulances, police, or fire services.

Sharing your location does not guarantee that any person or agency will respond, identify you correctly, or reach you in time.

Location information may be inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or affected by device, network, GPS, environmental, or other technical factors.

Always contact official emergency numbers in your country when immediate danger exists.


12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

When we make material changes, we may update the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the App or our website.

Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means that you acknowledge the updated policy.


13. End User License Agreement and Terms

Your use of ICEcard and its emergency and location-related features is also governed by our End User License Agreement (EULA) and Terms and Conditions.

The EULA and Terms contain additional provisions concerning the use of emergency features, limitations of service, prohibited activities, intellectual property, liability, and other terms applicable to your use of the App.
